The Delectable Delights of Social Bookmarking

We (Kenton, James and I) did a reprise of one of our Netspeed presentations on social bookmarking for the AACL (Alberta Association of College Librarians) yesterday afternoon. I’ve posted a PDF version (8 mb) of the presentation — The Delectable Delights of Social Bookmarking: Tagging, Folksonomies and the Nature of Social Bookmarking.

I’m still having a hard time figuring out how best to post the presentations we do using Keynote.

This PDF version is readable, but it loses a few slides and images due to transition affects that don’t translate well to a flat PDF version (unless I double the file size). Oh well. I’m sure you’ll get the point.

Again, it was a great crowd (considering we closed the day) and we were very pleased with the response and enthusiasm shown by the audience.

I’m really looking forward to next week’s GELA presentation where Kenton and I have been asked to explore the latest and greatest technologies, and do some speculating on what direction libraries ought to be moving.

It’s really rewarding to do sessions where you can tell light bulbs are going off for people, and they’re coming out of the session feeling both informed and even entertained.
